BREAKING NEWS: LAWRENCE COUNTY SCHOOL BUS INVOLVED IN WRECK

(APRIL 09, 2015)  A LAWRENCE COUNTY SCHOOL BUS WAS INVOLVED IN A THURSDAY AFTERNOON TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.  ACCORDING TO A STATEMENT BY THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM, THE BUS WAS UNLOADING STUDENTS ON HIGHWAY 43 NEAR SUPER RAMA IN SUMMERTOWN WHEN A VAN STRUCK THE BUS FROM BEHIND.  REPORTS SHOW THE VAN SWERVED TO ATTEMPT TO MISS THE BUS AND CAME TO REST ON ITS SIDE.  TWO STUDENTS ON THE BUS WERE TRANSPORTED TO AN AREA HOSPITAL.  ALL OTHER STUDENTS WERE PICKED UP BY PARENTS AFTER THE INCIDENT.  MEMBERS OF THE SUMMERTOWN AND ETHRIDGE FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND LAWRENCE COUNTY E-M-S RESPONDED.
